Tasting Notes

2016 - Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling trocken Magnius
And this #jakobschneider #magnus #riesling #2016 is so good that we counted it as a #grossesgewächs in our own logic and included it into our #gg tasting list... Very elegant, deep and majestic wine, in the nose fresh and racy with grapefruit, mandarin and slate minerality. On the palate fresh and crystal clear acidity and fruit, elegant minerality, slightly salty finish. A bomb!

2016 - Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese
Nose that is elegant, chilled minerality with stone fruits and slight exotic notes, promising herbal elements, on the palate amazing acidity-minerality balance, very juicy and powerful but at the same time very clear and elegant. Big wine!

1997 - Niederhäuser Klamm Riesling Spätlese
Back in #1997 #gaultmillau said about winery #jakobschneider that the wines could use more elegance. Today, we officially disagree! This #niederhäuserklamm #spätlese #riesling comes so elegant and perfectly aged like only Riesling can. Fine nose, soft fruit of ripe yellow apples, vanilla and honey. Smooth on the palate, juicy acidity, elegant and flying, beautiful aging with soft honey and slight caramel, spicy in the long finish! Wicked! Give me more of that!

2016 - Niederhäuser Kertz Riesling feinherb
Clearly a very beautiful example of what a “feinherb” Riesling from the Nahe can taste like. The nose is already very vibrant and filled with great spicy notes alongside nice citrus, white fruits and floral flavors. On the palate dense and harmonic, the spices carry it all the way to a long stonefruit, citrus finish. This one is one of the best Rieslings from Germany that you can buy for under ten Euros!
