Tasting Notes

Ungeheuer

2015 - Forster Ungeheuer Riesling Auslese
The nose is huge, full of honey, spices and fruit, apricots, pears, mango and other exotic fruits as well, on the palate so juicy and oily, great minerality-acidity-mix, the limestone minerality provides a great basis for the deep and intense fruit and honey flavors, fresh acidity finish. A must have for Auslese fans and not available every year!

2012 - Forster Ungeheuer Riesling GG
In the nose beautiful fruit of ripe yellow apples, pineapple and black currant, wonderful limestone minerality and some herbal notes. On the palate crisp acidity, citrus and grapefruit notes, very straight, very powerful, but still smooth, hints of honey, great limestone minerality and citrus in the long finish.

Pechstein

2016 - Pechstein Riesling GG
Very complex nose full of basalt minerality, great spiciness, also smoky notes, herbs, nice peach. On the palate powerful and slightly salty, very long finish.

Freundstück

1996 - Forster Freundstück Riesling Eiswein
From the color you can hardly believe it is still #riesling. It is a #georgmosbacher #forster #freundstück #eiswein #icewine from #1996. In the nose opulent, with caramel, dried plums, raisins, fig, smoky and woody, licorice. On the palate ripe plums, honey, licorice, chocolate, caramelized figs, orange peel. Smooth and spicy finish. Just outstanding!
