2011 - Van Volxem Altenberg Riesling
Very fine and nice fruit nose, smoky notes, flint from the red slate minerality with iron and volcano rocks. Fine creamy palate with deep minerality. Soft and juicy fruit with smoky saltiness in the great finish.
2010 - Van Volxem Altenberg Riesling
Great soft fruit noes, creamy and super inviting. Perfect balance on the palate, playing between creamy elegance, deep minerality with volcano smokiness and rich fruit from a broad fruit basket. And there is this freshness. Unbelievably good!
Ritterpfad
2018 - Van Volxem Ritterpfad Riesling Kabinett
Perfectly inviting nose with freshness, spices and fruit. On the palate this great balance between spiciness, sweetness and acidity, super juicy, super drinky. Perfect Kabi for a long spring night outside!
Scharzhofberger
2012 - Scharzhofberger Pergentsknopp Riesling GG
In the nose very soft and gentle, ripe fruit notes of stone fruits and exotics, nice spices, super elegant. The palate is a charmer, very fresh and creamy, great minerality, ripe fruits mixed with fresh citrus elements, exotics again, some melon. Long creamy finish. After this time in the bottle it is just so much fun!
2010 - Van Volxem Scharzhofberger Riesling Beerenauslese
Ripe nose with lots of raisins, very fruity, dried plums and apricots, hardly any aging recognizable, slight honey. On the palate super fruity and juicy, not flat at all, you can’t really taste any botrytis, instead super oily fruit notes, rich dried fruits great aciditiy, typical Saar freshness, perfectly balanced. Herbs, slight honey in the truly endless and dense finish.

2019 - Van Volxem Handverlesen Riesling
It is a wine that can show the world of nice Rieslings to a bigger audience. It is crisp, it shows good minerality, it has nice fruit in the nose and a fresh spice-fruit mix on the palate. It’s animating and has some length. Nonne who buys it will regret it. And maybe some who buy it will raise awareness for other Rieslings from the region. As we have been dedicated to offer the great world of good Riesling to as many people as possible, we support Van Volxem in his endeavor to invite a big audience to try this one.
2018 - Van Volxem VV Riesling
Super drinky, simple but very nice structure, nothing super complicated, good stone fruit, fine minerality. Very fresh and well balanced on the palate. Racy finish that invites to take the next sip.
2016 - Van Volxem Saar Riesling
Nice presence in the nose, very crisp, at the same time creamy, deep minerality. Deep spices, very rare in this lower price range, racy acidity, nicely integrated. Slight salt in the finish.
2016 - Van Volxem Wiltinger Riesling
When we tried it beginning of 2020 it was still a bit in sleeping mode. Either, you wait 6 more months or you drink it younger. Opened up in the glass. Fine nose, lots of minerality, herbs, exotic fruits, yellow stone fruits, also cassis. Juicy with race on the palate, creamy , perfectly balanced. Long, long finish with great fruit notes and salt.
2016 - Van Volxem Alte Reben Riesling
This bottle was already open for some days which opened an opulent fruit nose and showed clearly how great this wine ages. On the palate, racy and crisp, cool and very Saar typical, drinks very freshly, rich slate minerality. Love it.
